Another render of the Samsung Galaxy S III; Hints to a MWC announcement
Posted by Shawn Scoot - Feb 2, 2012 - 6:23pm
New renders of a phone said to be the Samsung Galaxy S III is getting a lot of attention today but mostly for the wrong reasons. At first glimpse this looks legit, the three Ice Cream Sandwich buttons are hardware instead of software, the calendar widget hints at a Mobile World Congress announcement and the weather widget even says Barcelona.   Everything looks well except for one little thing. Not all apps are designed for Ice Cream Sandwich, so all those other apps that still use the menu function instead of the new action bar will not fully function without a menu button. Why would Samsung do that, they wouldn't, it doesn't make sense, without a way to use the menu ...

HTC Ville makes a video appearance running Ice Cream Sandwich and Sense UI 4.0
Video Posted by Shawn Scoot - Jan 31, 2012 - 7:14pm
If you remember about a couple months ago, renders of the HTC Ville leaked out, now we get the first Mr. Blurry Cam video of the actual device it self. The Ville is running Ice Cream Sandwich with Sense UI 4.0. It's also crazy thin, rumored to be just about 8mm and HTC is using capacitive buttons instead of the onscreen buttons ICS has, this could be due to the phone having a 4.3-inch display. We should expect an announcement at Mobile World Congress and it's expected to hit T-Mobile. Check out the rest of the specs and hands on video after the break. 1.5GHz dual-core processor Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich HTC Sense 4.0 4.3-inch qHD display 1GB of ...

Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.4) for the Nexus S 4G leaks
Posted by Shawn Scoot - Jan 31, 2012 - 7:39am
Another Ice Cream Sandwich leak leaked out late last night, build number IMM26, this time a more current version 4.0.4 for the Sprint Samsung Nexus S 4G. Along with a new version number, it also has a new modem (software) and bootloader. Reports are coming that this may be the final version and the Nexus S 4G could get an OTA anytime now, since it's signed with a release key.   So you can either wait for the OTA, which could be days, or you can take your brave heart over to XDA and manually flash the ROM your self.

A slighted upgraded Galaxy Nexus coming soon? To Sprint maybe?
Posted by Shawn Scoot - Jan 30, 2012 - 6:05pm
According to the NenaMark benchmark screen shot above, Google and Samsung may be bring a new, higher-spec Galaxy Nexus, they wouldn't do that to us would they?   The Galaxy Nexus is already an impressive device, packing a TI OMAP4460 CPU with a SGX540 GPU. The one new Nexus benchmarked is packing a TI OMAP4470 CPU and a SGX544 GPU, and it looks to be running circles around the one in the current Nexus, at least on paper.   Maybe someone tweaked the results a little, or maybe this is the Sprint Galaxy Nexus this coming soon, and we don't have anything specs wise on the Sprint version other than it will feature Google Wallet. For the most part, we all assumed ...

Ice Cream Sandwich leaked for the Motorola Droid RAZR
Posted by Felix Akinyemi - Jan 25, 2012 - 8:47pm
We know that Motorola was planing on bring Ice Cream Sandwich to the Droid RAZR, well it looks like they are still working on it as an early version of the Blur filled Ice Cream Sandwich ROM leaked out today. It's Android 4.0.3 so it's the latest version but this is for the GSM RAZR. You can see Icons from Blur, and as you can see not all icons has been changed, the browser still has the stock icons and the home screen is still stock, which means this is a very early build. The lock screen looks different from what we have now and the camera looks to have been re-skinned a little. While ICS looks good enough to leave stock, the Blur overlay doesn't look bad at all. Looking forward ...

HTC Primo will bring Ice Cream Sandwich, dual-core and Beats Audio at a low cost
Posted by Felix Akinyemi - Jan 23, 2012 - 9:46pm
Ever wanted an HTC device with Beats Audio, but just don't have it in you to drop the big buxx on the HTC Sensation XL or the HTC Rezound, it looks like HTC will be bring out a mid-grade phone, complete with Beats Audio, called the HTC Primo.   As you can see the Primo is running Ice Cream Sandwich, without HTC Sense, which is quite odd since HTC is heavily invested in HTC Sense and if it's a Beats Audio device, the render must have been rushed.   For a mid-grade phone, it packing some big specs. A dual-core 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM, 3.7-inch display, a 5MP camera that shoots up to 720p HD.   We'll hear more about this in the coming ...

LG CX2 “Optimus 3D 2” coming to Mobile World Congress
Posted by Felix Akinyemi - Jan 23, 2012 - 2:55pm
If at first you don't succeed, some time it's not a bad idea to throw in the white towel, not LG. It seems that they will be introducing the LG CX2, which we figure will be the LG Optimus 3D 2 and most likely to be introduced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.   Spec wise not much has changed, it has a 4.3-inch NOVA display powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with all the basic essentials, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, DLNA and the addition of NFC all in a thin, clean profile.

Render of the Tegra 3 powered LG X3 leaks
Posted by Felix Akinyemi - Jan 20, 2012 - 6:00pm
Last year brought in the error of dual-core phones, and it looks like this year will be the year of quad-core phones, and at the rate things are going, a couple years from now, dual-core phones will b considered low-spec phones. While we know that the Samsung Galaxy S III, to some, will be considered the flagship Android phone, as was the Galaxy S I and II, LG is looking to take a nice chunk out of that market from Samsung with the rumored LG X3.   The X3 is going to be a nVidia Tegra 3 powered phone with a 4.7-inch 720p HD display running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, with an 8MP camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera, 16GB of onboard storage with microSD card support. It ...
