Last week when we were sent a some information about an upcoming Sprint tablet, today Sprint announced the ZTE Optik 7-inch Honeycomb tablet. The Optik will be available from Sprint this coming Sunday, February 5th, for just $99.99 on contract. It's nice to finally see a tablet with a good price and the specs to compete with the big name tablets.

We were sent some info about a new tablet from ZTE coming to Sprint, the ZTE Optik. The Optik will be available February 5th online and will hit stores about March 11th, and will be just $99 on contract and $349 without. While it's expected to be a mid-grade tablet, it's still packing some nice specs.

1.2GHz dual-core processor

1GB of RAM with 16GB internal storage
MicroSD card slot
5MP camera with a 2MP front-facing camera

One of the most impactful Android device can now take it's rightful place in history as a true landmark Android phone, the HTC Evo 4G. An internal memo was sent to Sprint employees that the HTC Evo 4G and the HTC Evo View 4G is now at end-of-life status. While the Evo View wasn't a big success that they thought it would be, it brought something different to the market. |

LG announced the Optimus Pad LTE |

Looks like LG doesn't want to be left out of the LTE bandwagon and has announced their first LTE powered tablet, the LG Optimus Pad LTE. The Optimus Pad will first launch in Korea and eventually the rest of the world, I think it's safe to say we would be last here in the US.
The Optimus Pad comes with your basic Android tablet specs, Android 3.2 Honeycomb (unfortunately) powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and an 8.9-inch IPS 720p HD display, see the full specs on our device page.

Motorola XOOM finally getting it’s Ice Cream Sandwich update |

If you are not first, might as well be second right? (roll eyes). The Motorola XOOM is finally getting it's Ice Cream Sandwich update. Motorola announced they were working on a project early last week but it's finally ready. If you have a Wi-Fi only XOOM (sorry Verizon users), you can check for update in settings to see if it has been rolled out to you, or if you are rooted, you can head over to XDA and manually flash the update your self.

Verizon will be adding the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 to the line up of LTE tablets, and at 7.9mm, it's the thinnest LTE tablet on Verizon. It's packing a 1.4GHz dual-core processor with a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. There's also a 3MP camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. It comes with 16Gb of storage and an SD card slot to expand your storage. Still running Honeycomb Android 3.2 with TouchWiz UX and no word on an Ice Cream Sandwich update, but we can say it's expected.

Another CES leak today, this time thanks to BGR, we get a peek at the Pantech Element, that's coming to AT&T that will be $299 on contract and $499 without.
It's an 8-inch Android 3.2 Honeycomb 4G LTE tablet powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of storage, 5MP 1080p HD camera plus a 2MP front-facing camera, and it's water-resistant.

ASUS Transformer Prime bootloader unlocking tool and Ice Cream Sandwich coming soon |

So now that people are receiving the ASUS Transformer Prime, it appears that ASUS has locked the bootloader up tight and people weren't very happy and voiced their opinions towards ASUS.
Well today ASUS spoke out as to why the boot loader is locked, and we have the full statement after the break, but in short, DRM client devices are require to be locked up, e.g. in order to rent movies from Google, your device must not be rooted and have a locked bootloader. However, they will provide an unlocking tool but they warn you that you do this at the risk of voiding your warranty, but we already knew that.

While we wait for all the goodies to get unveiled at CES in Las Vegas, we got a peak at an early at one of the products ASUS will be unveiling at CES. According to Notebook Italia, ASUS will be unveiling a new 7-inch tablet called the Eee Memo Pad powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor. It will be available from 16Gb to a 64GB and maybe 3D capabilities. CES is right around the corner, who's excited. |

Motorola prepping an update for the XOOM, possible Ice Cream Sandwich |

Motorola is preparing another project for the Motorola XOOM again, the "Google Experience Device" version of the XOOM. Nobody knows exactly what this means and everyone is calling it Ice Cream Sandwich just from the emphasis on a "Google Experience Device."
